The best turnout for years of 68 anglers fished the latest Coors match at Burton. Strong winds that lasted throughout the day with intermittent heavy showers did not stop the fish from feeding.

New pegs were introduced and one of these peg 2 at Sherratts won with a all roach bag caught on stick and maggot for 17lb 14oz by Burton legend, John Harper, 2nd was the downstream peg to the winner for a similar catch for 15lb 12oz who caught on the waggler, 3rd was Tom Lane had 12lb 10oz again from Sherratts. He caught perch close in at the start then had a run of roach to 6oz on the stick float two lengths out.

Hi Andy yes we need more river matches and I would run some myself if I new I could get the anglers there. It's wait and see at the moment. Ferry bridge club running club matches most Saturdays up to November and there are some mid-weekers at Branston golf course. Wayne Swinscoe said he would run a couple of winter matches as a trial so things may take off .

I've spoken to Ted at the tackle shop about running some Sunday matches through the winter on the golf course and possibly other stretches and other silvers venues. He is keen to run a series and I will keep you posted :thumsup
