International Anglers Meeting 2014

I know this forums have some proper matchanglers travelling around "the world" for fishing.
If you follow this link you´ll see a Video (in english) about this year IAM 2014. It´s a massive competition in Germany organised by german fishing association and Champions-Team.de , the homepage i´m writing for.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QjlhFMiwhQ
Hope you enjoy it.
It´s a canal with a moderate to fast flow. This year floats around 2-4g were adequate on the pole and 12-15g on the bolo. Water Level was low. At this time of year the canal is normally full with big roach and some bream and good catches can be realized.
The competition: it´s an teamevent. So it´s 5 sections with 46 anglers (splitted into "half-sections") from all over europe.

Good stuff Markus!

A few questions if you don't mind:
What happened to the match fishing ban in Germany?
How long is this match? 3,4 or 5 hours?
How deep is the venue?
With all those lovely roach, do you ever fish hempseed on this or other venues?

Match fishing is still a difficult issue in germany. This event can take place because we have a good reason for using the keepnet. Fish will be transported to a water which was damaged by cormanrans.
The match takes 4 hours and canal is around 6m deep.
I used hemp in the groundbait but normally the water is fast flowing. If water is higher you need 20-25g at the bolo line and sometimes up to 40g in sone section on the pole (normal is 15-20g). I don´t think you can feed your swim with loose hemp with this flow.
Fishing this year was difficult (i didn´t fish the match) because of extreme low water level. Low sections (A+B) struggled a bit and where won with 8-9kg. Section E was good as always and have been won by over 30kg.

Thanks Markus

Yes 6m is way too deep for the way we fish hemp!
