The 1st round of the Angling Trust winter league was fished by 7 teams of 8 on the Thames at Abingdon and Culham, With the river still lacking any flow and clear and the 1st frost of the Autumn this match was always going to be hard for most but there were still plenty of fish caught.
1st Simon Willsmore - Drennan - 14lb 14oz. Simon drew a top end peg just below the sailing club and had a good net of roach, perch and skimmers on 13m pole and caster over groundbait.
2nd = Matt Herbert - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 13lb 13oz. Matt drew in the centre of Abingdon and had roach and perch on caster over groundbait.
2nd = L Arnold - Tubertini Apollo Black - 13lb 13oz. Arnie also drew in Abingdon town centre and had a similar mixed bag on the pole and caster.
4th Pete Foster - ODAA - 11lb 12oz
5th Darren Scott - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 10lb 3oz
