I fished this as an individual in the hope of drawing Willington as I hadn't fished there for maybe 20 odd years, so guess what I drew Burton, worst bit of the worst section Image Image Image Image Image.

I had a perch about 4 oz and 2 more perch ( well I think they were, I've had bigger fish in my old tropical fish tank).

Dazzla was next to me, had about a dozen tiny perch for 3 oz and other good anglers around caught nowt either. I had 2 Morrisons bags, a Tesco bag, god knows how many bits of plastic and as they had cut the trees in the week and not bothered to clear the branches away I had enough branches to build a small log cabin.

I enjoyed seeing some old faces at the draw but fortunately this weekend will see me back at my local commercial fishing for silvers, no walking, bites on every peg and everyone will catch and have a fair chance of framing. Image Image Image Image.

I know that feeling tafty. We usually mix the canals with rycroft in the winter and over the last 3 years the canals have been woeful. Atleast you can get bites at rycroft and other commercials fishing for the silvers, where as the canal you could walk miles and you know your going to catch very little....no matter how good or bad you are. I've got some seasoned canal anglers fish my matches and they have had enough. 6-4 won our match at rycroft sun middle of the road bank. Weather was horrendous blowing straight into that bank was like the North Sea fair play to the lads that sat there I drew that bank and didn't last very long atall :'(

well , none of us like getting beat but if you've had a few fish it softens the blow a bit. At least you had something to work with.

I found an old article by Graham in a magazine the other day from 1996. It was " Everything you wanted to know about feeder fishing but were afraid to ask" think it was an Angling Plus.
