Curse match 11 - Woe for some...........
Curse match 11 - Woe for some...........
Woe for some at Willington
Not a lot to report on this one..........
A bit of a nightmare on both the preceding 'organisational front' and on the day for yours truely
In fact I nearly wrapped up after 15 mins being 3 hooks down in the first 10 mins (8 mins of that was tying new hooks on) - just couldnt get a run through, even after shallowing up just 2ft deep on a ripping thru, boily swim.
Foolishly soldiered on for another hour and 15 mins without a touch. Started wrapping up as Tricast62 rolled up - think my actions were the catalyst for him to call it a day too - although he had faired infinitely better, having snared a stickleback
Lower down on 'the beach' a few members were snatching a few, with the exception of Zorro, who was snaring more than his fair share
With 3 hours to go, me and Tricast tried (in vain) to snare a few on his 7mtr whip from some fishy looking upstream pegs that we were certain would hold a few...........just shows how wrong you we can be when you 'view' a peg
And inbetween us not catching owt Tricast was at his mischievous best, nuff said, hey Mike E ;)
I spent the last hour doing a Fatty Kendal catching up with a Zzzzzzzz's behind Phil B's peg, before he rudely awoke me packing up when the end eye of his 14 footer went up my left nostril
So onto the 'results'

Sounds a bit tough TK , grueller tendencies ?, was just about to announce my availability to ( possibly ) guest on the next match but I might just put all my gear onto ebay ?
Am off to monk lakes ( darn sarf ) for a weekend festival and that might renew my enthusiasm
tight lines

My enthusiasm for this one departed when I got to my peg cheers mick for drawing me a low number haha. Boiling swirling coloured water-
dangerously deep on the inside and streamer weed everywhere. Like Tk lost two hooks plumbing up on snags and felt like calling it a day on several occasions. Snared a few micro chub and bleak on the waggler chucked into shallow back water- and found 7 roach late on- a tough tough day but pleased I managed to put summit on the scales.
The venue itself looked nice with some real quality fish coming out all along the length. Well done to phil broad stock on 2nd place and a nice net of fish

Just to put the record straight, I did not attempt to impale
our leader on a 14FT match rod. As if I would. It was an
11FT ledger rod, in a vain attempt to stop him snoring!
Sorry Paul twas not the centre pin but my ever faithful ABU
506M. The flow was a little to fast.
I hope you a continuing to improve. I did wander if you affliction had anything to do with a bad air affliction from
your hero worshipping friend who fished next to you at Coppice Lane It could be a new diagnosis not previously known to medical science
