Fished Passford again today. Drew peg 20.
I started off on the Ground bait feeder with green swimstim and corn on the hook, cast out and it had barely settled before the tip went round. A nice 3lb+ tench.
Cast out again and nothing Image and then about 20 Min's later hooked into a nice ghost carp for about 4-5lb.
After about 1 and a half hours went on the pole and struggled to catch, managed to snare 3 Rudd and thought "Back on the tip"
Fished the rest of the match on the tip and caught F1's , little mirrors and commons. Also so nice Rudd and Roach.
All fish over 6lb had to be weighed and put back and I knew that 2 blokes in my section had called for the scales for 2 carp, one 10lb dead and the other 10lb 3oz.
The one guy weighed 11lb something and the other guy had 25lb, I thought I was close but unfortunately I had just over 20lb. :'( Not enough to win my section
The match was won with a net of silvers weighing 29lb all caught on the top 2 from peg 1.
I finished 4th I think, never stuck around as I was bloody freezing :D

On a side note, Andy Spruce had the biggest roach I have seen, around about the 2lb mark. Was a proper lad as he said :)
And that was my biggest Tench to date. Fought like a William the Conquerer :D

Good write up Si and 20lb of fish to boot. Not a bad days outing by any means, win or lose.

Can't wait to give the place ago myself with thoughts of all those silvers Image

Malc won it from peg one on his top 2 using maggot(I think)
Its a corner peg and might I add only one of two pensioner pegs on the pool, so he either gets peg 1 or 2. Last match there he did exactly the same, bagged up on silvers.
There's also a tree in the water there, a nice feature for small fish the seek shelter.
Now if that was me I would find fishing the same 2 pegs rather boring.
I will off to carry his tackle to any peg on the place next match  ;) ;)
