Hi TK.
Would it be ok for me to fish as a guest ?? Assuming you've not got a full house that is. Haven't fished a match in years.
I may have to work though, (On Holiday this week, so wont know till next week) So only a possible ATM.
Cheers.
Arch.

Well apart from that one......... Oh, and the 2 practise sessions for that match as well. I still haven't fished a match in years.
If there's no work, I shall look forward to it.
Thanks.

River level at Drakelow 0.5 metres up, but if weather forecast to be believed, and only a few showers to come, the river could be fishable and dropping

After the deluge today its looking more and more likely that its a squatt and g/b match coming up...........
Curse match 14 2013 - was the River Trent
The phone was a bit busy yesterday with a few members expressing concerns as to whether the match on the river on Saturday would go ahead.
General consensus was that it was going to be a non starter, had I thought of an alternative? Traditionally when a river match is called off we head to a cut.
How about the Extension?
Only problem is that it too tends to suffer after heavy rain pours into it so I didn’t feel that was really a ‘goer’.
How about a commie? In fact one member even kindly went as far as checking the availability of a local commercial and negotiated a ‘discount price’ for it if we wanted to book it (mind still hundred sovs plus)
Another member came up with another alternative ‘logical’ solution
Reports of river levels from the members on Tuesday were a little conflicting, so thought it best to wait and see what the gods would throw at us today. And they did throw a bit
Phone has been a bit busy again today.........so I guess it’s decision time as to whether you need to pop and pick up 4 pints of mags, caster and hemp............ or?????
I’d ‘explored’ the ‘alternative logical solution’ mentioned above in a phone call last night and it was a goer if we did want to knock the river on the head
We’d already paid for the river, why not drop on the controlling clubs canal? It would save spending even more money on a pool/commercial – particularly as I believe that when I produce the 2013 financial statement it will already show a shortfall this year due to a combination of lower membership turnouts on matches than forecasted and far fewer guests joining us
So it’s logical – well at least to me as treasurer – to move Saturday’s match to the Coors waters on the Trent and Mersey Canal (host of this year’s National), at Rugeley. We’ll fish the ‘Priory’ section which is just past the old power station entrance on the A513 Rugeley Road. The usual 9am draw etc......
So that’s saved you a few bob in bait anyway............
