well done Choppy - it'll be interesting to see how Hereford fishes this year.
First round of the Winter League on there this coming sunday!!  I can suggest your name to Tony Bouckley as he may be struggling to make a team up?

to be fair the only long walks (for the central hereford bit) are to A section at belmont - rest is no more than about ten pegs.

Banks can be awkward - but I just carry a small plastic trowel to cut a few steps if it's slippery.

Good luck anyway - the final line up looks very strong now ... Hope it's run again next year as my diary has not allowed me to take part this year.

Choppy sorry for late reply manic week it was.

Well i ended up going down for a bit of practice on the Thursday. I only fished for 2 hours got a bit sorted out and spent the rest of the day walking the banks watching other anglers. Also collected enough mole hill for about 10 matches. Yesterday 1st round of winter league was patchy i had 18lbs 10 oz of roach and dace on wag for 2nd in 12 peg section. i had nice draw bit of coin back and a good start to campaign Rigas Happy!. i fished 17 x 0.12 and also 18 x 0.10 which is much lighter than normal river was very clear and patchy. 74lbs of chub won but some anglers had ounces.

Ok normal float fishing line is 0.16 on the reel, rigs done on 0.14, hooklengths 0.12 to a hook between 13 and 18. There is a bit of snag management in my set up hence the tapered line diameters. The thing with the wye is u can fish it with no water on like yesterday and also with 9ft on. Tactics and methods are linked to conditions and the height of the river.

Choppy take my number 07980 635 049

well done Brian - I bet Dave Mander felt happy after that ... bit different for him from last year's campaign where he blanked as often as caught!

Where did you draw?

Peg 48 on the ash path Alex. A nice draw on the day 20lbs 4 oz won section. i lost the fish for an hour in the middle of the match which cost me the section and a frame place. Manders was on peg 22 chub are not there that often. He had some gruelers last year fair play to him.

Weather was sh!t sat uder brolly all day long had to manufacturer a waggler cast around the brolly and under a tree behind me. At the end of the match the banks were mega slippy. Choppy dont forget your rope, its helps u get up and down the bank. Spade also it took 20 mins to get my platform in at the start. The bank on 48 was a tough one on sunday due the the river height . Another 4ft on the river it would have been like an armchair peg lol
