These question will probably get a thousand different answers , but what length of hair would you use with a bait band ?
Because i was reading an article in pole fishing magazine were he suggests using a 10mm long one when fishing for carp and bream , where as i always thought that you pellet should be touching the bend of your hook and should their be any difference in length when fishing for f1s .
cheers Gary

A bit more detail for you im fishing shallow mainly for f1s
20 hook - 4mm pellet = gap between bend of hook 4mm or band just touching hook for small 10oz f1s
18 hook - 6mm pellet = gap between bend of hook 6mm or band just touching for f1s upto 2lb
Just this sound about right

I would suggest that longer than shoulder length, you would need a band as in high wind it might blow in your eyes!
Sorry Couldn't resist!
