Top of the golden mile ......drew 2 below it once and had 17lb of roach on stick and caster.....got battered either side by Nottingham lads fishing wag and mag .........lesson learned

The opposite bank is Stoke ferry lane end and has always been gravel as far as I can remember.stoke bardolph outflow ...... but I don't remember the powerline ... and the far bank doesn't look steep enough
There is a gap in the pegging for the wires , they are actually about 7 or 8 pegs down.

As Dazzla says those cables are a few pegs down. Upstream there was a short piece that once in a while caughed up huge catches bream; then you came to Stoke Bardolph weir.
The peg in the pic used to win loads of matches with roach and the odd chub, (sometimes bleak) but it was, probably still is, a good stretch all the way down. That is Burton Joyce in the distance.
There used to be some right dodgy stuff come out of that outfall and when the 'clean-up' began I think that was the first area that was tackled.
I can remember Mrs Whitmore chugging along on her motor bike; you never got away without paying your day ticket; If she missed you on the way up she'd get you on the way back!

Just below the wires became one of the best barbel pegs down there was it house or pub behind the road around there might be wrong as its a long time ago
