I was at Coombe Abbey on the A.T W/L final some while back when he won individual on ,as Billy would say Lindley Bank,..60lb odd and KC second 40 odd..I think.

Sold all His coarse kit a couple of years ago, when He was 74. Steve Pierrpont bought a load / given off him. He showed me a load of the stuff at Barford once. Immac. as you would expect. I believe He just does a spot of fly fishing now. What a Legend.

I can remember when Ken had is first 2lb roach at stourport it was early 90s peg was 1 below little glader he was over the moon nice block

that match fishing book at the time was fantastic ! I read it that many times :o I seem to remember it wasn't your normal book with pictures of fish it was what the match angler wanted I once was talking to Ken at elm bridge pools and couldn't believe how many ri've stacks he had in is car is attention to detail and preperation was unbelievable great bloke

the picture is from the front cover of Dave King's "modern match fishing" ... which I found disappointing.
The book I think you're referring to is "Match fishing our way" by Kenny & Clive .... much better.
Best of the lot though is Clive Smith's "championship match fishing - ten of the best" ..... reading it now is like being in a time machine.
There are some vids on youtube of Clive, Ken & the colonel fishing on the severn ..... with Jack Charlton .... they don't catch much and you can see how much Clive Smith detested fishing the feeder.
