How far apart should pegs be on a canal ?
I'm a 20yds (ish) man myself.
With the advent of commercials i've noticed clubs spacing pegs closer together on the cuts, probably because that's what people are used to.
But i'm really not keen. If you're only fishing say 11m and have to ship back along the bank, with the top kits off, you're going to be sticking at least 9m along to one side, with quite a swing round over the peg on you're other side.
In extreme cases i've almost been poking someone in the ribs or risking collison with his bait tray. Even if you're not that close, it's very distracting and of course you all have to ship in the same direction to avoid disaster.
I know people don't like to walk but to me thats just the way it is, plus a bit more space means more fish each, hopefully.
Whats normally done on your matches / the opens ?
Any recommendations distance wise ?
