Monk Lake 4 12th August 2017

Well the polite version is "that was a surprise!"
It fished very hard today - rumours from a very reliable source are that the lake has been netted and quite a bit of stock taken out. It certainly felt like that today - with every one trying a whole range of baits and tactics - long, short and to the islands etc to tempt fish, with only limited success. The weights were much less than our previous late winter ones. Every fish counted today with the odd carp or a few extra silvers potentially gaining an extra 2 or 3 places up the board.
The widely held view was that we should switch to lakes 1 and/or 2 and/or 3 next year.

Not a great days fishing tried everything I know which ain't a bloody lot :rofl
Would like to try lake 3 maybe or a different venue all together rather than lake 4 again

That's the worst result from there, we have lake 2 later on which should be a lot better. Seems like I chose the right match to go on holiday.
