Strikers Match Report - Larford

#1

Unread post by Lee_H »

This week i've been fruit picking and am now mostly eating Rhubarb crumble & Goosgog jam.
Last sundays contest was a bit of a washout to say the least, the Larford rains came at 10.30am & hardly stopped throughout the match.
Conditions on the Arena lake were also made difficult due to the festival bods fishing the venue to death the previous week.
The winner this week was Kev "Screw" Driver who had done his home work & captured 42-0
on corn & pellet, Kev's third in a row rewarded him with £96 prize money on the day which included the Golden peg pot of £50. In second was Mark "Mac" McGinley who's getting ever closer to top spot, he had 40-2 on the worm & caster. Graham Taylor took third with 37-11,
two thirds of his catch consisted of decent size skimmers.
The miserable weather prompted "Thomo" to pack up at the half way point and a few others
wishing they had stayed in bed, some who were wetter than a beavers chuff did'nt even bother staying for the weigh-in.
Look on the bright side, your tackle should be dry by the next match on the Partridge at Solhampton, which i'm told is a canal type pool, so watch out for the barges.
