Dave the wind really messed it up as usual, well for me anyway.
But I got to grips with it and learnt how to tackle shallow in the wind ;)

Cheers JJ Image Same goes to you Image

I wasn't catching in the first hour but Tinky was....
He was giving me some right stick. Then my patience came through and I was catching well.
All Tinky could catch was Skimmer Image

I didn't take the yellow stream much....... HONEST Image Image

WHAT!!!! No Tons

Dave id hate to imagine the state of your fishery management and fish on your waters that throw up ton bags by just turning up after yesterdays MDs match. Most of the southern anglers were impressed with what they thought was well managed venue when they kept the venue open time after time altho suffering from fish diseases. If this is a good standard then god help your fish, no wounder you great ton bags, the fish just want to get out for help.

The better venues in the midlands might not throw out ton bags week in week out, but the fish are in imaculate condition.

well done Si for 2nd place. were did you catch them? shallow or on the deck ?

Thanks, All shallow at 11 meters on the 8mm boilie mate.
I had a dabble in the margins with corn and paste but all I was getting was liners so stuck at shallow for the rest of the match.

(boilies are allowed now if you check the website :) )

It stays on the well, saves you mucking around re-baiting all the time.
I did try a banded pellet too but no luck with that and the guy to my right was using pellet so I switched back.
I pulled out of a lot of fish but I had my lacky too tight. Was fine after I slackened it off a bit.

Well, I used to think I was half decent at fishing shallow. But fishing next to Cess was a bit of an eye opener for me.
Thats the biggest bag of fish I've seen anyone catch shallow.
He was using a hair-rigged 4mm pellet coated in nail varnish (I kid u not) fishing at 16 metres.
I was using a banded 4mm pellet but could not get the feeding right so lost fish to him and with Drynet fishing short the other side of him he'd got basically 3 pegs to go at.
Anyway you'l be glad to know I drove him silly on the way home asking questions!!! ;)

Gotta watch old Cess, he's a right dark horse. (dont get any Idea's budgie :D )

I liked his motorized trolly, very tempted to get one. Perfect for places like larford.

He will tell you off for revealing his secrets Image Image Image
