Only me, Gav and this other bloke turned up   :D

We still fished. I drew peg 26.
I set up 2 rigs, both shallow. One for corn and one for caster.
Ended up fishing shallow on caster all match and used 2 pints of caster.
I won with 55lb something. Carp 3lb - 5lb and a few roach.

I had a audience the whole match. Mr Spruce and Budgie were like a pair of old dears swapping knitting patterns behind me  Image Image

Fished better than I thought it was going too. Nice weather but dropped cold later on but it didn't put the fish off.

Gav weighed 41lb something.
Don't know what the other guy weighed but I think he was in the tree's more than he was in the pool  :D :D
Deffo going again next week.  Image

Well done Simple, its about time your elastic got stretched.Image

I very much doubt that Gem. Not now you have found out how to feed 4 bags of pellet in a match. ;)

Soft elastic is in my experience best for fishing that method simps Image i very rarely go above an 8s ;) heavier elastic will lead to a lot more bumped fish and your peg messed up.I think its much better to take your time with a hooked carp within reason and land it, rather than rush with heavy gear and lose it !!! ;)

I agree Dodge.
I was using Yellow Vespe and then went onto the red and lost 2 fish straight away. I'm sure I would have got them in with the Yellow.

Cheers :)

A wins a win..........whatever.

Good to see you have a few tugs SS Image

What peg did you fish Image
Soft elastic is in my experience best for fishing that method simps

I'm still a novice at this carp caper, but have probably lost less and landed my best fish - 9 - 11lb jobbies - on a softish solid no10.

When I'm on cranked up stuff, yep its a case of more bumped fish..............or even a lost top 2 :D

I was on peg 26 mate.

The softer lakky was better. I just didn't have it set right as I had only put it in the other day.
If it would have been a 5 hour match I would have played around a bit more with it.
I did put about 5 wraps on the stora bung and yet it was still drooping out the end of the pole.

Going on Saturday again. Its on the spring pool this time.
