The match this week December 11th was fished on the slightly deeper Dovecote stretch not so many fish but a better stamp
21 fished.
1st peg 19 Steve Reid 14lb 00oz Punch at 7m and maggot at 13m.
2nd peg 20 Bob Smith 13lb 10oz pinkie and g/bait
3rd peg 11 Derek Skinner 11lb 12ozm 104 fish on punch and whip at 5m and 6 m
4th peg 1 Andy Dillamore 9lb 13 oz
5th peg 21 Don Green 8lb 3 oz
6th peg 18 Russ Parsons 7lb 14oz.
It was very patchy with the anglers in the middle pegs struggling, some not bothering the scales.

Only 3 turned up for the Dec 20th match,
We fished the first 3 pegs on the match length, and it fished poorly. which came as a surprise-as Derek had 12lb 1oz off peg 1 in a club match on the Sunday, 2nd weight being 5lb 9oz
1st peg 3 Mark Cook 5lb 7oz
2nd peg 2 Derek Skinner 3lb 5oz
3rd peg 1 Brian Blackamore 3lb 1oz.

Tuesday 27th match result.
10 fished, permanent pegs 27--36,
1st peg 27 Bob Smith 8lb 2oz
2nd peg 31 Derek Skinner 8lb 1oz
3rd peg 28 Mark Cook 4lb 13oz
4th = peg 33 Steve Miles
peg 36 Alec Rawlings 4lb 3oz
With Bob on end peg and me smack bang in the middle I was pleased to get as close to him as I did.

The next match will be on Bank Holiday Monday Jan. 2nd. hoping for a good turn out.

Sunday 8th January result, Fished at Dovecote, 12 anglers fished
1st peg 12 Bob Smith 15lb 12oz pole and whip pinkie and G/ bait
2nd peg 11 Derek Skinner 13lb 8oz 4 & 3.5m whip and punch
3rd peg 1 Pete Harker 11lb 5oz pole and pinkie
4th peg 3 Ian Brodie 10lb 15oz pole and pinkie
5th peg 5 Steve Miles 10lb 14oz pole and pinkie
6th peg 4 Lee Feary 10lb 7oz pole and pinkie.
Familiar story-Bob on the end peg,,with the inevitable result--would be interesting if just one week he drew in the middle of the match. might give us all a chance.

Sunday Jan 15th result, Only 7 hardy souls braved the rain, we fished pegs 28 to 34. on the platforms
1st peg 30 Derek Skinner 6lb 7oz -4m whip and punch
2nd peg 34 Danny Hurst 5lb 14oz pinkie and punch at 13m
3rd peg 28 Richard Kinning 3lb 10 oz pinkie at 9m
4th peg 33 Mark Cook 3lb 6oz 4 and 8m whip and pinkie
5th peg 31 Russ Parsons 2lb pinkie and worm 10m.
we were greeted with a 3m sheet of thin ice in the margins, and with it raining all day, it wasnt surprising that the weights wernt as good as usual.

Sunday Jan 22nd result-15 fished at Dovecote,
1st peg 6 Alec Rawlings 13lb 11oz waggler and maggot across.
2nd peg7 Steve Reid 13lb 9oz pole and pinkie at 10m
3rd peg 10 Steve Miles 11lb 12oz pole and pinkie -including some quality fish
4th peg 3 Bob Smith 10lb 12oz pole and whip and pinkie at 7m and 9m
5th peg15 Mark Cook 9lb 13oz pole and whip and pinkie
6th peg 13 Andrew (beany) Sawyer 8lb 15oz whip and pinkie
Then came 7 more 8llbs plus,,I was equal 12th with 8lb, wasnt one of my best days. On a day when Punch should have been THE bait-It was minus 2deg when we started , and only got up up to 3 deg all day.-it just didnt work as well as expected, but in those conditions the river fished damn well.

Hi Derek, well done for being out in tuff conditions mate, not exactly the easiest time of year what with these bitterly freezing cold conditions, certainly not me ideal conditions for roach, but like they say gotta be in it to win it :tiphat

Be lucky :thumsup

Sunday January 29th result 18 fished at Dovecote
1st peg 6 Alec Rawlings 15lb 11oz -waggler pinkie and maggot acroos
2nd peg 8 Bob Smith 10lb 11oz pole and pinkie
3rd peg 9 Richard Kinning 9lb 10 oz pole and pinkie
4th peg 7 Derek Skinner 9lb 1oz 4m whip and Punch
5th peg 4 Mark Cook 8lb 4oz pole and pinkie
6th peg 1 Andrew ( beany) Sawyer 6lb 15oz whip and pinkie
Alec gave us another exhibition of superb waggler fishing, but all but 2 of the anglers in the higher numbers 10 to 18 who we all expected to dominate the match, packed up early as all the fish seemed to be shoaled up in a tight area in the middle numbers

Sunday 26th Feb 12 fished permanent pegs 31 to 43
1st peg 31 Bob Smith 6lb 11oz 100 Roach pinkie and pole
2nd peg 43 Alec Rawlings 4lb 10oz -a rare 3lb Bream and Roach
3rd peg 32 Andrew ( beany) Sawyer 3lb 0oz small Roach, pole and pinkie
4th peg 36 Russ Parsons 2lb 2oz -1lb 13oz Perch and 5 tiny fish. worm
5th peg 37 Derek Skinner 0lb 13oz 7 Roach
6th peg 33 Ian Brodie 0lb 12oz 20 small fish.
End peg syndrome again, with everyone really struggling for a bite --except end peg Bob, on the downstream end --the fish appeared tp have moved lower down the match length.
