With regards to drawing of the team out of a hat, Im not fishing at all well, would much prefer to stand down to a better angler..... I was( am) willing to make up the numbers, but am loathe to drag the team down , so wont mind at all if Im swapped with one of the reserves
That said, lack of abilty aside I will be happy to fish too, whichever suits the team best  :thumsup

At the outset 'I' did think about 'picking the best' side from the members wishing to fish this match to give us the best opportunity of returning 'victorious'

But doing that could
a) upset a member or two
b) have been considered 'subjective' - 'he should have picked so and so instead of so and so'

Hence JK doing a lucky dip............

I've had the invite to the 2016 challenge match on a different venue a couple of weeks ago. I've juggled our fixtures around so we can again enter a side

What I intend for 2016 is that the side effectively 'picks itself' (from those members interested in fishing it) based on the final 2015 Cashmores league table......so finish in the top 4, you deffo make the side........

An update for you lads :thumsup
With the important info for the match

Dear Roy, Tony & Martin,
Just a few reminders going into the forthcoming challenge match.

- Your four team members on the day will be paying a further £10 each to complete the £15 all in charge. This obviously takes into consideration the 4x £5.00 per member deposit (£20.00).
- The match draw time will be at 8.30am.
- Only the nominated team captains from each club will be drawing on their clubs behalf.
A further draw for each individual members peg number will be enclosed within the envelopes drawn by the captains.
- The contest will be a 5 hour match, fishing from 10.00 to 15.00 hours.
- Only feeder pellets bought from Astwood Fishery are allowed.
- All competitors keep nets must be laid out behind their drawn pegs and not entered into the water until 10 minutes before the start of the match (at 09.50am).
- Barbless hooks only are allowed - no size is specified.
- Allowed baits are-: Maggots, Sinking bread, Casters, Luncheon meat, Worms, Sweet corn & Hook pellets.

Note-: Corks AC will not be retaining any finances for this match. All income is to be paid out on the venue booking and total prize money 100%.

Corks AC look forwarded to seeing you on match day and many thanks again for your clubs backing of this annual event.

Naturally all your clubs will be re-invited next year for Saturday 10 September 2016 @ Moorlands Farm fishery on their record breaking Bank Pool. It is hoped that there will be 6 four man teams next year with Whittaker AC from Coleshill joining the challenge.

Any queries do not hesitate to phone me on-: 0121-6825223.
Regards Barry.
