the perch in the KP are monsters compared to Holly's. If you don't want to get your keep nets wet don't worry as Holly's fish are quite fine in a 1 pint bait tub Image

I dont know why you are so critical Si.

They do a nice breakfast
Toilets so Gem doesnt have to spend time seaching for a quiet spot.
A free ride to your peg ( Saves Simple have to carry two lots of gear to the lake. ;)
The pellets are geat... for putting in the mouse traps as bait, I had 12 in a week using them. Good job the mice like them cos the carp dont :(

I really enjoyed spending 5 hours driving 300 miles to fish for tiddlers for 5 hours. >:( >:( :(

Tony you will love it there. Shallow on the caster or meat Image
But you might need to come upto 0.13 - 0.15 and size 16 or 18 hook. Image Think you can handle that Image
There's alot of ghosties in there that give you a good scrap. Even black hydro was taking its time bringing them in. I will be on something else next time Image

I agree with everyone. The feed pellets are shite but the brekkies are top notch Image
Will be a good day out again.
Sprucey, Conna, Tinky get your names down Image

A hour and half is to much to travel there never mind 5 hrs.

Larford!!!! As if they would give you anything for free. >:( they charge £1 each way but you have to wait at your peg for over an hour at the end of the match cos they wont collect you until they have finished weighing in >:()

They have a buggy at Holly farm and will take you to the peg and bring you back free of charge if you ask nicely. ;)

TK you said tiddlers ( plural) You may not catch more than one, just ask Si.

Personally I prefer to fish venues that are more even and give you the opportunity to compete with a variety of methods. A lot of the waters down here have proper carp and you can do well using long pole ( up in the water and on the deck) Margins pole with paste pellet etc , pellet wag, bagging wag, method, straight feeder.

Also very few insist on ripping you off by making you buy their pellet.  This seems to be a midlands thing and most of the time its pellet you can buy much much cheaper from other sources. >:( >:(

Why dont you come down here and Ill show you some proper fishing, but you will have to leave the black hydro at home and bring some red with you ;)

Holly is a lovely venue as a pleasure venue, with its nicely mowed grass and pritty trees and plant and gravel carpark, but as a match venue ............ Image.................... it just simply upto it

Sell the tickets for the cruise you just booked

Thats why Im poor, Ive even had to send the wife out to work this week so we can afford a breakfast at Gatwick Airport.

Now lets think what we want to do.

1) a cruise in the Caribbean 28 to 30 Deg C every day, while you lot freeze your wotsits off.
Or
2) 5 hours sat on Gils lake at Holly Farm.

I think Im going to need some help deciding as its very difficult choosing between them. :-/
