Any news yet Dave,

It is still provisionally booked at present. I have not paid a deposit so if the date has to change I can do it then.

Bit quiet on here at the moment :thinking , so I'll chip in my twopennyworth.
Definitely book Hartleylands Nicks
Sumners (if possible)
Orchard Place Farm

Possible others Tylers Common - would probably fish better than Puddledock
Claygate Sophie - think this needs to be fished summer months only
Churchgate - possibly worth another go but previously stock levels seemed low
Monks Lake 2 - actually prefer this to 4 but again summer only
Beaver Farm - probably more mature now but would need a visit beforehand to assess
Lake John - Undecided, looks like we would have to share the big lake, maybe can't do Sunday

Looks like I have cocked up the dates as 23rd July is MDs weekend. Keith is going to try and rearrange Alders.

Dave

As requested I have booked the 30th July, leaving the 23rd free for the MDs weekender.

I have booked 15 pegs on Ash Lake, if we need more they can accomodate. Thinking that the access is easier for our members yet the fishing is still good. I have also asked them to provide breakfasts but will ask for numbers nearer the time.

Thanks for that Keith. :thumsup

There are two questions I need answered
1) We now have Alders and Arrans on consecutive weekends. Are you all happy with that otherwise I will move Arrans.

2) Considering trying to book Johns Lake but they have some unusual rules

No Paste
No balling of ground bait
No method feeder, pellet feeders, minimum hook length 6″, No tucking bait in feeders
No feeding a line while fishing another, unless loose feeding via hand
Maximum hook size is 14,
All pegs are feeder pegs but there are only nine island pegs
pegs 11, 12, 13, left bank 29, 30, 31, back bank, 34, 35, 36, right bank
agree your feeder line with the surrounding anglers

I don't understand "No feeding a line while fishing another" unless using a catapult counts as feeding by hand.

Are you happy to fish to those rules?

I think it stops people fishing a rod and still using the pole to put bait in via a pole cup. Seen it at a few venues before.

Catapults are fine as long as you use your hands to pull the elastic back.

Lake John sounds more trouble than its worth, doesn't sound like our cup of tea, rather go to Churchgate or Tylers - just saying :thinking

Is Lake John getting lots of plus marks from somewhere?
Looking at those rules, I must say Lake John doesn't exactly set out to make itself attractive to prospective match visitors. :sad
Maybe Tel's got a point; perhaps we should try other venues on the list first and only come back to this if we're short of dates.
Dave - let me know if you need a hand with bookings. :thumsup

Info for those interested 22nd to 24th July DTF invitation and MDs pairs Rolfs Lake
http://www.maggotdrowning.com/forum/top ... _ID=187691 Webbo has posted on MD's tonight that the Rolfs Pairs is booked for Sat/Sunday 30/31st July 2016
'Dave the fish' will also be running his Friday match on Friday 29th July which obviously clashes with your Alders booking.
