I have a list of possible venues for this year

Colemans Woods and Stepfield
Hartleylands Nicks , Res and possibly pear Tree
Claygate Eva and Sophie
Beaver Farm needs a fact finding mission
Sumners Ponds Match LakeArrans
Alders
Orchard Farm Lake 6
Tylers Common needs a fact finding mission
PuddledockMonk Lake 2 or 4

Southend Farm
Churchgate
A12 Lakes
Rayne Lodge

I know there have been some big weights from Tylers common and its probable the fish have grown a bit since I last went there with Tony when it was a fish a chuck but 12oz being a big fish. Sumners is proving a little difficult to book as they wont make dates available until they have confirmed all there corporate bookings.

Has anyone got any information or comments on these or know of any others. Has anyone any objections to increasing the number of dates to 12 or 14.

Happy that we are moving forward as a club Dave with a lot more planning going on. I cannot comment on a lot of the venues as a lot of them I have not fished before. I will as always trust your judgement.

I was disappointed with Rayne Lodge every time I have been there, hear good things but a lot of people walking around and sitting between people. If my memory serves me right also Churchgate was a struggle for most ( except Mick).

What about Lake John. I have been hearing good reports from here and It is different to the norm. Nearly 100lb of skimmers are being caught regularly, along with some carp.

No objection to 12 matches though.

I think it is the canal lake, not certain to be honest but see a lot of posts where lads are getting good weights of skimmers. Will need to look more into it before confirming. They are catching them on top twos, fours and across.

Colin and I took a trip to have a look a number of years ago and if I remember correctly we couldnt book it because they had regular opens every Saturday. It looks like its still the same but it may be worth seeing if we can get the big lake.

Good 'long list' Dave. IMO definitely go for a minimum 12 matches and if we can fit in a couple on top of this then that's a bonus. Dont think we should wait for Jinx dates this year before booking - you've got a pretty good idea when they are likely to be so should still be able to mostly avoid clashes for those members who are still fishing the Jinx next year (brave souls :surprisev ).
On venues here's my 10 penny worth: 2 at Colemans, 2 (not 3) at Hartleylands, Monk 4 for first match, Claygate ( 1 or 2), Arrans, Puddledock (worth another try), Sumners if you can get it, Alders Pines unless they de-stock the carp - thats 10/11.
Of the others we would need up to 3/4; my pecking order (subject to any new factfinding info) would be: Churchgate main lake (the bream and ide will be getting big now, but also we've never tried the carp lake and with our reduced numbers that may be possible), Southend farm may be worth another try, Orchard Farm, Tylers Common. Not sure we'll be able to do much relevant fact finding at the tail end of the summer season tho'.
Not so keen on Rayne Lodge; dont know anything much about A12 lakes or Lake John.
Of the venues I have nominated the split is: up to 8 north of the Dartford crossing and up to 6/7 south which feels ok ish.

When it comes to booking let me know if you need any help. :thumsup

Just a thought. If I could book Lake John on a Sunday would you all be able to make it. Just like we used to do with Rockells farm.

And Puddledock , do you want the usual lake or what about the canal ( not my choice as the fish often disappear out of the pegged bits into calmer water. Plus the bends are usually the fliers and others struggle)

Thanks to Keith for booking Alders. 7 down 5 or 6 to go.

Definitely decided to try for Orchard lake 6 http://www.orchardplacefarmfishing.co.uk/ so with Sophie, Nicks and Puddledock that's 4. I might just go with Tylers common Willow lake with out visiting them as there is no question it will throw up some good weights unless they have now put in some decent access to Horseshoe lake. I believe the hill is a bit too steep for a lot of us. http://www.tylerscommonfishery.co.uk/

I will then add a in date for Sumners if it becomes available.

Almost forgot Lake John as well

There may be an issue with the Alders match clashing with the MDs weekend. Im waiting for clarification as there is uncertainty over which date has been booked.

Dave

Let me know as soon as possible. I will speak with Trevor at the weekend and keep it as a provisional booking for now. As soon as you have more concrete dates let me know and I will see if I can get one of the others. What were they again?
