Alders Farm July 18th

As you all know Alders Farm has undergone some changes to its fishery over the last year. For the better, the weights are now a lot closer and matches can be won from anywhere. Pines has not changed a great deal from the last time we fished it. Fish can be caught from inches from the bank to 16m. A small inline method will score next to islands.
Dave cannot make it as he is away. I have asked if we can use the mule to transport tackle from the car park to the pegs, which has been agreed. We will also be allowed to drive down the hill to collect tackle after the match.
What I do need are actual numbers of who is coming and if they want breakfast so they can be pre-ordered.

Thanks for starting this off. Chris Withall and Jimmy Etherington ( Guest) Will be going but do not want breakfast and as per last year they would prefer it if they can fish adjacent pegs as last year, if possible.

Do people need to order maggot if they want any?

Al

There are a lot of fish coming out at the moment and can see no reason for shallow fishing NOT working. Not something I have tried.
Baits are mainly pellet, maggot, corn and paste in no particular order. They are catching well with maggot over GB in the margins.
Depths range from 18inches to 8ft deep on the dam wall, but will be dependant on how many are fishing.
You can catch 30lb of silvers but will not win you nothing, there is a lot of carp from 1lb to 10lb range and they scrap.

Personally I will be fishing 2+2 and down the edge with corn but I do that everywhere.

If you need maggot Trevor can order them in and they will be available on the day. BUT they must be pre-ordered. do not leave it til the last minute. Remember fishery only pellet, dip nets and enjoy yourselves.

Chris and Jimmy can fish together, I can see no objections.

Hoping to try and make this one, recently had surgery on my finger to have two screws put into it so currently in a very large bandage. If all goes well and I'm out of it in time then I will be attending and would like breakfast as well :)

I'll be there Keith. Plus a brekkie. I think Jim is coming but no brekkie. I suggest we do the draw in the cafe 8:30ish. Quite a long way for me but will try and be there 7:45. If poss is it ok for you to sort out pegging? Simon is bringing scales etc. I assume we still need to dip nets before going down?

REMINDER TO ALL - FISHERY ONLY PELLETS; BUY AT SHOP BEFORE YOU GO DOWN TO THE LAKE/CAFE.

Tony I will ask Trevor to sort out the pegging. Not sure if we have the whole lake or not though.

I have asked for use of the mule to assist getting the tackle for some up to the lake and this will be done from the shop area/car park. Nets must all be dipped before going down to the lakes and left out to air and not put in until 10 minutes before match start.
