And of course, very well done to Leicester.
Seems to be a competitive but good natured league.
The fishing looks rather good too .... Plenty of options for tactics and plenty of bites in most areas.
I'd quite fancy some more of that next year!

FINAL ROUND OF THE SVWL
sometimes (v rarely in my case) when your confidence is high, you can seem to magic fish out of fairly poor areas and batter all around you consistently.
One person on sunday took a (very) early bath .... no prizes but guess who? kept him quiet (for a little while)

THE RIVER FEST
unlucky - as you say - just a little too far up for the roach, and with no dace running that was that!
I had peg 80 on the Wye Champs - but there was just too much water on it that day ... I should have hung a pellet out for a barbel (always learning at this game).
Hope to see you soon

Best way of keeping Casters
Fred bailey anyone? I've read stories of the state of his casters .... Don't know how true though!
I've been meaning to try pellet pump for a while .... But that would mean buying one! This does look a good option.

All our yesterdays..............down the cut
Showing my age .... Used to fish against richard's dad .... The late frank swan. Always amusing on the cut when he'd bellow out to any boat about 3 pegs away "keep down the middle". Richard worked Friday nights in gone fishing in Wolverton, which was my local shop for the last few years th...

Thought it was a legacy extender! Does Keith still use the Mitchells? I remember a relatively recent photo of John Allerton still using them.

Don't say that you're not jealous when you see me carrying (no barrow yet) my ASI over the fields! Just about the only thing I have in common with tony Marshall!

Sad times for the Joffmiester
The place I go is a club water which cost 50 quid a year. I blank as often as I catch but my best is 11 fish in a 5 hour session.

Sad times for the Joffmiester
Big slabs are awesome fish!!! Not sure about the rod pods and buzzers though! I occasionally fish an old gravel pit in Bedfordshire for the bream that range from 9 to 13 lb. fish It match style with 2lb hooklengtj and size 17 b711 ;-) PS good luck Joff ... I gave up serious team fishing in the mid 9...

well done Brian - I bet Dave Mander felt happy after that ... bit different for him from last year's campaign where he blanked as often as caught!

Riverfest final
Well the qualifiers have certainly delivered a good line up for the final .... I see that Chalky and Leigh Gardener have qualified at Evesham ... so there will be plenty of people on there with lots of Wye experience. If there were odds like Fisho, who would be up there? Spud Murphy, Ian Winter or m...

PLEASE EXPLAIN
I've had the same conversation with tony Marshall a couple of times .... He doesn't see the river circuit in the midlands (what's left of it) lasting more than another 10 to 15 years , because the youngest anglers on it are mid 40s like me.
Back to club matches then!

to be fair the only long walks (for the central hereford bit) are to A section at belmont - rest is no more than about ten pegs. Banks can be awkward - but I just carry a small plastic trowel to cut a few steps if it's slippery. Good luck anyway - the final line up looks very strong now ... Hope it'...
