Re: Alders Farm - Ash Lake 04/07/2020

Keith - I blew it in the first hour - diddly squat, while you were in from the off. :thumsup Chris - time for some serious discipline for your drawing hand mate. Clive reckons repeatedly shutting it in the car boot lid does the trick for him (well some times) ;D Mugger - good to see you again mate -...

Alders Farm - Ash Lake 04/07/2020

13 fished today - dull, mild and very breezy throughout with occasional 'mizzle'. It was a surprise to see that all the nearside bushes and vegetation from peg 30 to about peg 23 had been completely cleared. Strange to see them in glorious isolation. I understand from Trevor that this was done as pa...

Re: Alders Farm Ash lake Saturday 4th July

Short walks. Just Mr C again this week.
Viv has drawn 27 for Dave. Gotta be happy with that :rolleyes
Truth is, any short walk is goin' to be a flier on Ash. :facepalm
Still people do blow fliers............ ;D

Puddledock Farm - Snake Lake 20/06/2020

At last our first match of the season - warm with sunny periods and a breeze (which was troublesome for a few of us). We fished every other peg from 1-29. 15 fished today - great to see everyone out on the bank again. Also our first match with social distancing which seemed to work out reasonably we...

If your're not able to lift your own net for health reasons, then perhaps Josh or Kyle could do the honours for you - assuming they're ok with that?

Re: Booking in Puddledock Snake Saturday 20th June

Good idea Josh. We already have two sets of scales and mats, and now I've just bought us a 75L plastic flexibucket which looks as though it will do the job nicely. About the same size as our weigh bucket. Just need to drill some drainage holes in the bottom. Hopefully it'll work ok on Sat.

Re: Puddledock Snake Saturday 20th June

Right, let me start the ball rolling on how we might organise ourselves to stay safe at our matches moving forward. I think this is key to getting most/all to feel confident about attending. :thumsup These are just my thoughts - so you can kick 'em around, improve on them or scrub. 1. Monies - perso...

Re: Monk Lake 1 30th May 2020

Josh - when Dave spoke to Monks yesterday about reserving us pegs they were having none of it, so Dave was left with no option but to cancel next Saturday. That was the right call imho. Realistically we need to know where we stand a week in advance. Looks like we should be able to get things kicked ...

Re: Monk Lake 1 30th May 2020

Thanks for trying Dave. I think you've made the right call. Sounds like demand at Monk Lakes is a bit crazy at the mo. Realistically they probably couldn't guarantee us a section of pegs even if they wanted to. Probably a bit of a free for all once you've queued and paid up. As you say maybe we can ...

That doesn't sound great Dave. Sounds like people are paying at the gate one by one, hence the queue?
Not sure I fancy a long unpredictable wait.

Re: Monk Lake 1 30th May 2020

Me and Jim are ok to come along. Frankly its only worth while if we can have one half of Lake 1 or both sides of the spit, or if numbers are low just one bank. Ie they honour our booking and allow us to 'individually fish' in a group (obviously no weigh-in and pegs drawn in advance; fish 10-4 and if...

Tel - I know us old farts have to watch out, but you'll be climbing the walls by Thursday :rage Seriously tho I'm not sure its workable to ask 12 million old farts to stay at home for weeks on end. :thinking As I understand it, its close contact with infected people we have to avoid. Been searching for my fishing mojo and to be honest can’t find it anywhere ! Si - you gotta find it!!!!!!
