Anybody remember on one of his programmes he was walking along the bank.
He went through this clapper gate and the thing slammed shut with his fingers still in it.
One of the funniest TV moments!!!!

It is easy to confuse the many matches on the loughs and River Erne at Enniskillen. During May alone there is the Fermanagh Classic, Mahon's, Mahon's Veterans, Gold Cup, Boz's 40, Mal Scott Memorial. The last two may be one of the same though, - not sure. There is also the National Fire Service matc...

Fermanagh Classic Festival

Remember drawing peg 14 on the point at Ely one day. Possibly the worst day for weather I have ever seen in Ireland. The wind was straight at me and I was getting close to being drowned or having my yed decapitated in the waves. What a day to draw that peg, still one of the best there, had no choice...

Strong gusty winds meant feeder was the only option for many. Day one. Winner was Phil Bardell (Milton Keynes) with 16k110 of feeder caught roach and hybrids. Phil was on the slipway on the open shoreline at Corradillar. The catches were all fairly similar with Tony Green (Enniskillen) bagging 15k15...

For this one I have resurrected a few very old passages of text that I put pencil to over 50 years ago. I was going to use them for other features, eventually a book for thought better of that, but I never got round to it. The complete feature is now written today but the actual small passages come ...

Time and memory can play a big part in what is reality but these reports were written many years ago. As we are just twenty years or so away from a brand new century there is no doubt that sport on the Upper Trent and the Severn has started to change dramatically. The roach days are all but over wit...
