On the subject of crisp tins, when I was a lad I found a Biscuit type tin, in the road of all things. Just the job, somehow found some aluminium sheet and folded it to make a cracking hook over the front of me basket. Bosta it was, not like the flimsy things me mates had. Kept me squatts in that too ...

How far apart should pegs be on a canal ? I'm a 20yds (ish) man myself. With the advent of commercials i've noticed clubs spacing pegs closer together on the cuts, probably because that's what people are used to. But i'm really not keen. That's the one TK, Eckington and unfortunately, like a lot of sandstone structures, wearing away !

Fleetingly thought eckington myself, but it would have to have been an old photo and as others have said, bridge is wrong stone.

Eckington is sandstone I think, brown.

How many times have I thought of doing something like that to my 506's. Bloomin freezin to hold in the depths of winter, but never got round to it. Would probably choose a darker colour mind :D Thing about that picture though, is he doesn't seem dressed for the cold exactly ??? Not proper cold ...

Cannock Extension Canal

Was thinking about the Extension today, and the W & Essington come to that, all the Tench i've seen have been sizeable. No small stuff.

Bit like Barbel in some waters, rarely catch small ones.

Am I right in that smaller Tench in these cuts rarely show ?
