Hankat spring league

Hi Arch

Proper shame about the season tickets but at the end of the day Redfins need to make it pay.

Roll on the autumn when the matches should start up again.

Re: Hankat spring league

The league matches have had 24 each week. Spaces on the opens though but only one match left. Good close matches, 15lb needed to win with plenty of back up weights. Hard to predict which section will win let alone which peg. It could be 80 skimmers on the long pole, 240 bits on the whip or a dozen b...

Hankat spring league

I have been fishing the winter league at Willesley Lake and one of the regulars has mentioned entering a team into the Hankat Spring League. Does anyone have any info on venues etc?

Many thanks in anticipation of a flood of informative responses

Best pole roller

Thanks for the advice- I ended up buying a garbolino w roller. Seemed stronger than other rollers and had legs that extend 3 times.

Used it on saturday and won the match so fingers crossed it is also a lucky roller...

Best pole roller

Hi All

I have saved my pocket money for a few weeks and have £50 to spend on a new flat bed pole roller.

Anybody have any recommendations of ones to look at or avoid?

Many thanks.

They didn't run a match last weekend but there will be one this weekend.

Draw 8am fish 9am till 2pm. Should fish well if the colour stays as it is.

Stick or twist, Bad decision making and more!

Good questions Olly. I have been having this same conundrum over the winter. The lake we fish has a reliable big head of roach, gudgeon and ide that will give you 15lb from every peg. However as this is 300 fish, it is hard to improve the weight. However you can catch between 10lb and 20lb off most ...

Arch I agree about how the gear hanging off the trees looks- redfins reckon they have a tree surgeon coming in to do some work but has been hampered by the strong winds.

I shall pass on your compliment to Rich when I fish with him on sunday!

Trees are overgrown but really not a problem in most pegs- unless you are a noddy carper chucking a spod vertically.

Sundays match was tight- low weights but everyone was in with a shout. The bream were starting to come onto the pole line by all accounts.

Match on sunday again- contact redfins.

Matches have been on most sundays for the last month or 2. Tight matches as the bream don't appear to have got their heads down yet.
The last match I fished was won with 15lb of net roach from the eel trap.

Contact redfins for more info.

Planning and delivering a charity match

I am planning a charity match in aid of Movember and just need some advice/ ideas in order to make it really successful and raise plenty of money. I have booked a good all round venue that produces well over the autumn- the owner has also taken a decent percentage off the normal rate. I have set the...

River venues around Burton/ Loughborough/ Tamworth

Many thanks for the info- it looks like we are going to walk the stretch at Tamworth and see how it looks. Is it day ticket on the bank for the Tame?

River venues around Burton/ Loughborough/ Tamworth

Me and  3 friends fish little knock ups every weekend and like to use a range of venues.
Can anyone recommend any day ticket river stretches for when the season starts again?
We are based in Ashby but would travel to burton/loughbrough/tamworth.
Many thanks.

Nanofil advice and thoughts required

Many thanks for your help- the animated knot sites are brilliant. The main problem with nanofil is that it is so thin it cuts itself under pressure. Therefore any strangulation knots- such as figure of eight or overhand loop- snap under a small pull. The way I can get round it is to attach a swivel ...

Nanofil advice and thoughts required

Having had a moment of weakness I went to the tackle shop on payday... And in another moment of weakness I gave in and bought a spool of nanofil. I have used this before and been really impressed but I am having some problems with my knots. My hook knot is fine but when I tied a pole rig and tested ...

Another breadpunch question

Having read the last breadpunch thread with interest I am after some help if possible.
Has anyone here ever had reason to fish breadpunch on a deep lake. I fish a lake which averages 12ft at 4m out and I am struggling to find articles about deep water punch fishing.
Any ideas greatly recieved.
