The first of these matches took place today. I took this picture on my phone at about 10am. Fortunately the weather got quite a lot better! http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l244/phy8dop/Kilby18-12-20111.jpg There was talk of a knock up on Friday.....I have got the day off work if anyone has any det...

Hi Wayne, We have met before. I thought you were the Wayne from Townsend fishing tackle - but thats another Wayne! :D Thanks for the offer of some advice. You are right that anyone can win if they get the right peg - I should know as I fluked the win in the Ivan Marks memorial match in March, mainly...

Hi Adam, thanks for getting back to me. I will put my name down for some of the matches. I'm not a match fisherman by any stretch of the imagination. I was just thinking of trying some matches this winter to try and improve my all round fishing.....so not too serious suits me fine! I was thinking of...

Anybody got a 6 metre whip for sale??
I have been trying to get a decent whip everywhere.
I think I have just done a deal for a tourney 8m whip, but I think the tri casts are pretty good too.
How long is the tri cast Joff?

I am a Wigston member and am interested in these matches.
I might not be able to make all the pairs series matches. Will subs be allowed?

I have caught quite a few on the Trent. I tend to use a hooklength of 3 or 4 ft. I think the bigger ones might hold back a little from the feeder, whereas the 2-3lb chub seem to be right up attacking the feeder. I think the long hooklength will cause the bait to waft around in the flow, although I d...

Yes, I was in the first peg with the leaves. It was a bit of a pain cause you'd be catching on a line, but then it would be completely covered with leaves and you'd have to move to a new line. Theres not much point in complaining though - not much the organiser can do. The last match I fished on the...

Hi Joff,
I think I met you today on the Wreake canal championship. I was doing the scales and weighed in someone called Joff.
Was that you?

Hello,
Ive just registered.
Have these matches been fished, or was there not enough interest? If they did go ahead, was much caught? I might be interested in having a go in the August 28th one if its happening.
