Used to get mine from a bend on the Shugborough stretch of the Trent when I lived in Little Haywood Bill. Excellent stuff. Someone once told me that if you get it as soon as the river went down (messy work) and froze it, some natural feed, such as invertebrates would still be in the "silt"...

Good stuff Simon. I am still looking to run a match, possibly not on the scale of the Forum Championships as such, where we can donate the peg fees towards your costs. I am also going to propose a ten bob subsidy on all our winter "grueller" matches to add a bit more matey. I am sure nobod...
