round 4 and blimey

Joff - Well done yesterday mate. Not sure what was going on at Crow Mills. Just think that the patchy nature of this venue is a combination of the extreme weather and the canal just getting too much hammer. Even 2 weeks between matches can be too little at times. Had a very uneventful day with a dre...

How did eveyone get on today??? Heard that Joffie had a few!! Had another shocker - drew Peg 2 at Crow Mills, fancied it for roach and rudd - BLANK. Was in good company though there was 11 of us, including Swinno on the next peg. After last weeks cancellation have caught a grand total of 1 fish in t...

Not at all maddog - we love this canal and the flowing sections at Aylestone and will carry on fishing this league every year, give our full support etc etc. Looking forward to a few sessions on the tench at Crow Mills this summer too!! Would like to run some evening matches here, Kilby, possibly at...

Wigston A.S. Teams of Four Winter League

Glad that you cancelled it Adam, but wished i'd made the effort to go to Kilby Bridge like Rob. Got stuck under the railway bridge in Harborough and couldnt get back up the hill into Desborough so had to take refuge in McDonalds for a while! Was so bored on Sunday almost made the trip to Kent to hav...

Adam,
I think your suggestion sounds fine. I would try to get as many pegs into Kilby boatyard and turning bay as possible though - can't see any chance of boats moving particularly if there is ice on.

Gonna be a tough :'(

Joff - Really enjoyed drawing next to you yesterday!! What a match http://simplematchfishing.co.uk/forum2/images/converted_files/yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/waaaa.gif tried everything to get another bite, stocking with worm and tiny bits of redworm on 2 lines - no bite. Joff/Hammo - Had a good look at the conversation and I agree with a lot of what you are saying.  I was not far from you on Sunday Joff and had 110 roach for 4-11.  Caught nearly everything at 5 metres on punch, but it was hard work and the fish were difficult to catch at times.  Left it too long bef...

Wigston A.S. Teams of Four Winter League

Well done yesterday mate it was good to finally get the league started!  Well organised, good breakfast, good pub - looks like it will be a friendly league.  Shame we had such a bad team result, could be difficult to make that up :( 2010 is not going well so far - Terrible start at Wigston and lost ...

Wigston A.S. Teams of Four Winter League

Adam - Difficult one this! Both of our sides would prefer to stay on the 'normal' canal and are perfectly happy to break the ice. I fished in Mkt Harborough on Saturday and a couple of areas were ice free and it was only 1/2" max at Northampton yesterday. BUT I know that a lot of the teams in t...
