Re: Hankat spring league

Only ever went one or two times a year Mick, so wouldn't be interested in a season ticket. Just liked to turn up when I felt like it. The lake will always hold a special place for me, as it was where I spent lots of my very early angling years trying to catch. Didn't manage to most of the time, but ...

Re: Hankat spring league

Went to go and have a walk around Willesley lake yesterday only to be met with barb wire and keep out signs. Seems Redfins have turned it into a Carp syndicate. 70 members, £300 a year. Effing shame, used to be one of the best Bream/Skimmer waters going years ago. I still enjoyed the odd day out the...

FFS. Didn't even know he was ill. One of my favorite anglers, just that little bit different was Jan. Sad news.

All our yesterdays - another postcard view

Trent bridge and the Victoria embankment. The water level looks down. That bottom step on the far bank is normally under water. I once fished about where the camera man would have been standing to take this shot. On the other side there is a very large block of flats. Someone in the flats was shooti...

CHANGES COULD BE ON THE WAY FOR NATIONALS

Proposal C. This should have happened years ago.

We as a team never stood a chance of winning the National, we may have had shout at a Regional though, and less travelling.

Re: River Soar: Best day-ticket section?

No worries. I never really liked the Soar TBH, Normanton and Sutton I could just about stomach, but struggled on the natural river.

Having said all that, I may get a ticket and fish for the Barbel on the Abbey. Might as well as I can't catch them out of the Dove. :-/

Re: River Soar: Best day-ticket section?

Soar lane, Sutton Bonnington. Walk upstream (Left) and fish opposite the pub. G/B with Squatts and a few Casters in it at long pole range, fish Pinkie/Maggot on the hook. Top 5s needed. 1/1.5grm float. Bulk half depth, strung out shot below, Skimmers, Perch and Roach. You can catch on Hemp, but only...

Re: willesley lake

If I was ever lucky enough to win the Lottery, I'd buy Willesley lake. I crappity smack the Carpers off and put it back to the way it was in the 80's. Cut the trees back, fit some decent stages in the shallows, sort the pegs out in the deeps and stock some new Bream. 70 peg sellouts back in the day,...

Re: Brian Hull Steps Down

Thats sad. It's always the minority who do the damage. Although i've not fished with or seen Brian for a long while, i'd still like to consider him a friend.

A top bloke and a nicer man you could not wish to meet. All the best Brian :thumsup
