Barbel rod.

I'm on the lookout for a Barbel rod to use on the Trent around Burton and maybe the odd trip up to Collingham. A trip to the Wye later this year is also planned. I've been looking at the PI Dutch master river, a Matrix Horizon, Drennan matchpro super feeder or the Greys Prodigy VX super feeder. Or i...

I'm sat there thinking WTF am i doing this to myself for coz i certainly ain't enjoying it. Got home and never ...

RIG / HOOK LENGTH LINE... WHICH ONES?????

Iv'e just tried Supplex, tyed up some hooklengths for Silvers. Seems very nice and like it's name, very supple. Main line for rigs, I still have some of the original Maver smart line which i like too, running out of that now so will probably switch over to Supplex for all my rig making line. I do st...

I fished it in August, down the wood side. Had maybe 20lbs of Skimmers, no big Bream. Fished the feeder all day. Caught alot of fish on the drop/as the bait settled. Single and double Red maggot the best bait. I tried Worm and Corn on the hook but didn't catch any better. There is a match this Sunda...

Ryecroft fisheries silverfish match

Fished peg 10 today. I wanted to fish last Saturdays match but got stuck at work on Friday and couldn't get to the tackle shop in time to get my bait, so used it today instead. Broke a no 7 section as well, so it must be the peg. Maybe had around 3lbs, nothing big and i needed to chop and change to ...

Yeah, it was a good match, not like the one I fished there on the other lakes yesterday, 138lb won, 32lb 2nd, proper winter carp bingo. http://simplematchfishing.co.uk/forum2/images/converted_files/ya...

Reading your peg

I think we fish a better peg differently than a crap one. (Pretty obvious that) If you know you are on a good peg you can attack it, so team points "Should" be easier to come by rather than scratching about. It's the poor pegs that make getting good points difficult. .........As regarding ...

Sometimes a peg is that good that you have to go for it regardless of the team. I don't know if the Bomb Hole still fishes, but if it does surley you would target the Bream there rather than try for team points. One Bream and you've secured good points. Second bend at Zouch held Bream too. I was luc...
