summer mix canal

Sensas Cloud and Lake. Mixed 50/50 and wet to get it down. Used to work well on the Witham when we fished it close in with a whip.

Get back on the natural venues

LOL. My Burton Mutual ticket arrived a couple of weeks ago. Last weekend I went for a look at some of the sections of the Dove that the BMAA control. I took one of my friends who is/was a Carper. Well, one of the sections has a car park near a disused railway line. The book says "Walk to the 2n...

Can't quite believe i'm posting this on here, but here goes. We are fishing another Charity match later this year. It should be on a river, but the 2 guys organising it are from Wales, the Wye near them is un-available so they have put us on a Shhhh Carp puddle   http://simplematchfishing.co.uk/foru...

LOL

Bait alarms are going a bit to far for me.   Image Chair, kit and a flask of coffee and I can see myself spending many a hour wandering along the Trent and Dove. I might even catch summat.

Barbel rod.

** UPDATE ** A few months ago i travelled across to Fosters and had a good look round all their available heavy feeder/barbel rods. In the end i chose a Greys Specimen feeder. The guy helping me went off to find the rod bag and extra tips, as that rod was the only one they had. Well after a good sea...

Pole Rigs

River rigs ?? 20 or so. Most are still in my box from when I used to fish on a regular basis. Every now and again I get them out and clean the white stuff off the shot and then put them back in again. Lake and canal rigs ?? 50 odd. Oddly enough, iv'e still got two river rods made up from last August...

England feeder team Grant speaks out

Didn't Alex Bones say something similar in one of his editorials in Match Fishing magazine a while back ?? That's 3 disgruntled anglers now. http://simplematchfishing.co.uk/forum2/images/converted_files/yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/fistycuffs.gif http://simplematchfishing.co.uk/forum2/images/co...

Willesley Lake Open

I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree about the trees. I'll take some pictures next time I'm there. The Camera never lies and all that. When Richard Wood ran the winter matches at Willesley eons ago, he pegged from the fence end (Peg 21 IIMC) around to about peg 65. The pegs in the twenties wer...

It could be 1377. But I'd say it was 1905.

Willesley Lake Open

Went for a short walk round this afternoon, parked at the roadside and walked a few pegs in the field and 10 or so up towards the deeps. The colour isn't too bad, not that horrible reddy/brown colour it goes when we have lots of rain. Only one carper fishing. The guys that now run Willersley really ...

Eventful Week

I'm going to buy a Burton Mutual season ticket and fish the Trent as much as i can. Hopefully find some Bream at Stuanton Harold reservoir too. May fish a match at Ryecroft as well, but don't really don't want to get battered doing so and then loose interest in fishing all over again. Tight lines. h...

Cheers guys. http://simplematchfishing.co.uk/forum2/images/converted_files/yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/thumbsup.gif Feeder fishing has changed a lot since i stopped going. Then, if you fished a stillwater you used an 11/13 combo and on the river it was some sort of Porky pig rod or a broom han...

Barbel rod.

I do like the look of the DMs thats for sure. But would i be better off with the river version ?? I want to be chucking a GB feeder and Halibut combo across the Trent/Wye. As for the reel. Iv'e got 2, 5000 baitrunners, although i like the look of the Daiwa Whisker 3012. :D Thanks for replying. http:...
