All our yesterdays - a surprise visitor
Sporting prowess must run in the family, his brother is a very good snooker player, has his own room/table at his house. Not bad at Golf either. He does ask me about fishing things though, which I find strange when his brother was/is such a good angler. I'll look forward to the finished article Mark...

Slightly off topic, but. The guy I go out rabbiting with, has caught an English 42lb Common from Bluebell lakes. Ask him to rig up a Stick float or Waggler and he wouldn't even know which float was which, he's read it all out of books. A bit sad really. I don't fish that much these days, but if Comm...

Match 15 Trent Municiple
I tend to keep my eye on that EA site for Drakelow. I would say it would be better if it went down to around 1.35m. Last year we fished a match on Branston when it was 1.45 ish and it was going through a bit. Fishable, but pacy. And the streamer weed was invisable, so making the trot through awkward...

A guy called Ron Stacey was pretty good at Burton. It has been said that some of the cracks sought him out for info when fishing the opens there. Mick Lees was another.
If I had to chose one, it would be John Dean.

Our river here, which with the Penk goes into the Trent is up a bit but as clear as tap water. You can see the bottom virtually anywhere. It is nowt to bother about as the weed is holding it back quite a bit as I'm sure it will on the Dove and Derwent. - It is then latter two that tend to cause pro...

Fast, shallow and weedy with a few deeper pegs. I fished that stretch 4 times last year. I found stick float the best. It took some working out with all the weed. Find a clear run through and stay on that line. Waggler, the same. Small fish mainly with the odd bigger fish. Bronze maggot was the best...
