Did a 4 day session at Bluebell last June. Never had a sniff, only 1 carp caught all weekend. The fish started spawning on the last morning so that was that.
Borrowed all the kit and wont be going again.

JOKER FLOATS??????
On narrow canals i used to use the old Sensas Desque green ones, with wire straight through. A bugger to shot right and you didn't want to ping a shot off mid match. Used to use Lipsal on the tip to help it stay above the water. I think iv'e still got some on winders all complete with lovely "w...

JOKER HOOKS???
Iv'e still got some Au lion d'or hooks that i used to use when it got really hard. Size 28 and 30. Nice long shank, barbless, a good hook. Drennan Carbon Caster in 26's also used or B511 when on a few. Iv'e also got a few Red Whisker barb (I think they were WBs) hooks. Never really liked them though...

I was under the impression Christine, the lady who sells the day tickets owned it, with her husband. They bought it off a guy who lived in Measham who part owned a building firm in Leicester called Sowdens. Not sure if they're still going. He, bought it off the coal board. The fishing club who lease...

All our yesterdays....a trawl through the archives
That reminds me of a pairs club match i fished where there was an odd number turned up. (We used to draw pairs on the day) Anyway i somehow came first and second in the pairs match. I was drawn out to be the one who fished as two different pairs. I came second in the match on my own, One of my partn...

It used to be a belting winter roach water back in the day. I remember Robin Banton and Jim Redfin having some superb nets of fish on the caster from the deep end. From memory there was a groundbait ban on there at that time - which didn't help the bream prospects. Jim Redfin. Now there's a name iv...

Umm, Willersley lake. The carp fishing isn't that good. My mate did a few seasons on it. I think the biggest Carp goes around 30lb. So if a syndicate was to buy it i would guess they would have to put some stock in. The Bream fishing was always good, but they took a liking to the Carp grub so they m...

Would like to see how deep you guys fish ? dead bottom, just off bottom?
Joffs peg is about 4 1/2 feet 2 meters out. I know this from experience as it's the peg i fell in whilst trying to retrieve two sections on pole blown in in a winter match.
Brrrrrr.
