R. Yare - 28th August

Should be a good tide on Sunday, High Water about 10 am and a neap tide on the Saturday so you shouldn't need a very heavy float. To the left of the pub in the 50's you could get away with a gramme and a half or 3 grammes probably.

R. Yare - 28th August

Where you were it would have been running even harder than it was where I was. I must have walked past you. It would have been hammering into your feet on that tide. I like the Usain Bolt analogy, just about sums it up :D Most of the fish were coming when it was held back but you would have needed a ...

R. Yare - 28th August

There was a cold wind blowing and the weather had a decidedly autumnal touch to it on Saturday. We had also had a lot of rain during the week which had taken the colour out of the river and the colourometer read 2' 6" instead of the 8 -10 inches it had read throughout the summer. That meant that the ...

River Yare Result - 21/8/10

Low water is 11 am on the 30th September and about an hour later each following day. For the tides a good site to look at is this one :- http://www.norfolk-broads.org/tides/broadstides.asp For tidal heights I use this:- http://www.pol.ac.uk/ntslf/tides/?port=0204 but it doesn't go that far yet, just ...

River Yare Result - 21/8/10

Dodge, I haven't seen any. We get the odd sea trout, smelt, mullet or bass and in the past we used to see a few flounders that were sometimes invaluable in a winter league match for a few points! They used to look like a leaf coming in :D The Norfolk & Suffolk Winter League is famous for a 120 peg ...

River Yare Result - 21/8/10

Just looked at the tide for 11/9/10 CWH. Low water just after 9am so if you come you will be fishing a flood tide all day, the run will be right to left, and it is a big spring tide which isn't necessarily the best of conditions. If you could make the 4th the fishing should be a lot better for the ...

River Yare Result - 21/8/10

Here you are Joff. If you look on Google maps, Multimap etc and zoom in on NR14 6DH that takes you to the pub, Beauchamp Arms. If you zoom in on the satelite you can see where the reeds have been knocked down making a path to the river on the pegs. The river runs from left to right on an ebb tide ...

River Yare Result - 21/8/10

Yes there will be a match 11th September CWH - Fancy a go?

And yes, I do know how lucky we are to have such great fishing on the river. There was many a year when it wasn't so good.

River Yare Result - 21/8/10

Another good result and match from the Yare. There were a few on National Duty today so we only had 46 fishing. Those on the Trent were not enjoying the 'fishing' too much by the sound of one or two text messages received. They all wished they were on the Yare! There were 2 non weighers but everyone ...

Certainly he looks like Freddie, but "You were made for me" wasn't ringing out at the presentation.

It isn't that bald headed bloke who manages to lead the National winner into the winners enclosure every year is it?

Essex County - 1981 National Winners - Team Names

Clapperton is the 'prat in the hat' with his arms around Pete Burrell and Tommy who still fishes the Yare along with Jimmy Randell. Top left is Kenny Rolfe who collects match results for the Anglers Mail. Does anyone know if the short guy next to Dennis Salmon is Billy Knott Snr? And yes, they did ...
