With less than a fortnight to go for this 'opener' for the 2010 series, better start a new topic

Park on Bolehall Social Club
Amington Road

I've got a few interested guests for this match so if you do not intend fishing this one, or know of any member not coming along, please pm me or let me know - cheers  Smiley

Havent fished this section before Joffie - but have fished the adjoining sections either side.........

Had some brilliant days on there, also the odd  Smiley grueller.

Once weighed in 29lb12oz of redfins for 2nd place........was a bit narked, they were like peas in the pod, one more I'd have broke the 30lb mark of all roach

Also chub barbel and bream. In fact in the knock up above, one guy bust the scales when on his first weigh he tipped too many fish in the weigh net, the scales went zap round past the 75lb mark and bust  Smiley

Blues4eva mentioned it to me on the match on Sat - he fished this particular section last year and had some bostin chub  Smiley

But it all depends on the conditions Joffie - if low and clear it will be a  Smiley - needs a touch of colour in it..............bet we wont see any rain for a fortnight now  Smiley

There's a few essox lucius about too.........shouldnt be too much of a problem for us, we're used to em in our cut  Smiley

Probably a decade ago........bet its been a few years since we fished that 6 a side match on the next section up too  Shocked

Hope them chub Blues4eva had last season show........well I'll settle for redfins  Wink

When we last fished the 'town/castle' section I was next peg to HaHa in some shallow fast water.......struggling a bit, picking off odd dace and roach............then I hit a barbel that tried to bore its way into the bank opposite  Smiley

A guy came along, asked if could drop in the peg upstream that hadnt come out of the bag.........or we hadnt pegged it........and then proceded to catch a 12lb plus carp.......black as the ace of spades it was.

I wasnt weighing in, so just for a bit of banter and wind up he stuck it in my net........there were a couple of amazed faces when I pulled my net out to weight in at the end of the match  Smiley

I posted these results on MDs - might as well stick 'em up here too

Recent match results on The Anker taken from the Tamworth Herald Website

BELGRAVE AC – fished the river Anker in the castle grounds on Sunday where victory went to Dave Shakespeare with 25-4-0, 2 Gaz Thomas 11-10-0, 3 Ken Walters 8-0-0, 4 Len Sanders 6-12-0.

POLESWORTH AC – fished the River Anker at Polesworth on Sunday where first place went to Mick Lewandowski with 5-15-0, 2 Ray Linearts 4-12-0, 3 Jack Locke 4-3-0, 4 Steve McClusky 4-2-0, 5 Andy Atkins 3-10-0.

Mind, looks like it was a bit of a grueller the day before  Smiley

BIRCHMOOR AC – fished the River Anker at Polesworth on Saturday where top spot went to Andy Atkins with 3-8-8, 2 Pete Roberts 1-2-6, 3 Denis Bond 0-4-2.

Looks like the river was fishing even harder across all sections during last weekend of Jan with weights well down on the Belgrave waters

BIRCHMOOR AC – fished the River Anker, Polesworth, on Saturday, where top place went to Alan Bartholomew with 6-0-4, 2 John Taylor 0-11-10, 3 Andy Atkins 0-5-12.

POLESWORTH AC – fished the River Anker on Sunday where top spot went to Steve Lewandowski with 4-0-0, 2 Kerry Bradford 1-3-0, 3 Ray Linearts 1-2-0, 4 Mel Lewandowski 1-1-0.

BELGRAVE AC – fished the River Anker, Castle Grounds, on Sunday where the winner was Ken Walters with 2-9-0, 2 Johnny Seagrove 2-0-0, 3 Paul Clayton 1-7-8.

Considering how everywhere was fishing in Jan, I'm sure we'll have a few tugs  Smiley

Gunna be interesting this one…………… Wink

I know that Cotti and MrV are looking forward to it   Smiley   Smiley

Chub were showing earlier in the week, but also heard it’s ‘recently’ shown it’s ‘cruel’ side as well  Smiley

Had a pm about the river last week……..I’ve edited so that nobody gets too upbeat if they draw a flyer  Smiley or more importantly too down hearted if they draw a ‘not so fancied’ peg  Cry ………encouragingly it does mention the silvers…..if you can avoid the pike  Smiley

hi tony i see your fishing the anker at bolehall next week. i guarantee the ??????? peg will win it, always does lol. the ???????? pegs look great but there not as good as they look. the ????? pegs where ????????????????? are by far the best pegs. loads of small roach to be had
trouble is it's full of jack pike

So there we go................   Smiley
